WHAT A COLORFUL DAY by Hana Joo

Hana Joo works intuitively to find and create color relationships. To make this piece, she simply "grabbed a brush, dabbed it in pigment, and let the water and color flow together." Like her hero Wassily Kandinsky, Hana aims to create spiritual, even musical links between her shapes and colors. Hana grew up a small town in South Korea and moved to New York City at the age of 20 where she now works as an art therapist.

Hana Joo grew up in Gwacheon, South Korea, a cozy mountain village covered in parks. She moved to New York in 2008 to earn her Masters in Creative Art Therapy at Hofstra University. Hana now works as an Art Therapist in Queens. She also has a BFA in Industrial Design from Hongik University in Seoul and has shown her work at Rogue Space in Chelsea.
