SUBURBS by Ansen Seale

Ansen Seale took this photograph in 1982 out the window of my apartment in San Antonio, Texas. The trees in this picture are pecans, which are very prevalent in Ansen's native south. When they drop their fruit, a hard husk is left behind.

Ansen was born in McAllen, Texas, next to the border with Mexico. He now lives in San Antonio with his wife, son, two dogs and two cats. His work has been featured in galleries, museums, private and corporate collections in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Los Angeles, the Canary Islands and Amsterdam. He holds a degree in Studio Art and Journalism, Broadcasting and Film from Trinity University.
