MILK SPLASH by Chelsea Fisher

Chelsea Fisher's photographs are expertly composed homages to mid-century photojournalism. The patriotic blues and burnt reds in this stunning milk spill highlight the elegance of lost time - of bygone moments and fading aesthetics.

Chelsea calls her splash series "a really good excuse to make a big mess." She loves the aesthetic of coffee and tea cups and wanted to add a little pep to her photographs of them. So, how did she get the milk to spill so enthusiastically? In this case, Chelsea stole a little ball out of her daughter's room while she was napping. She dropped it into the cup and clicked the shutter.

Chelsea grew up in a small town in Montana where cattle outnumbers humans. She now lives in the Ballad neighborhood of Seattle with her husband Brett, daughter Jude, son Lennon, and her meow-crazy black cat Poe. She works extensively in analog photography and earned her degree in photography from the Art Institute of Seattle.
