THE BOUQUET by Carolyn Schlam

Carolyn Schlam's figurative work is a marriage of two main goals: the architecture of form and the transformative power of emotion. Carolyn calls the pairing of emotion with technical skill the true magic of art: "When we can insert feeling into paint, we can produce an image which breathes, has reality, and meaning. In a sense what we create is an avatar of ourselves."

Carolyn works as both a painter and a glass artist. She has exhibited her art across the country and in the UK. Carolyn was born and raised in New York City and now lives in Taos, New Mexico. She's an avid swimmer, spending no less than an hour in the pool each day.
