CINNAMON by Joanne L Gallery

These lips were Joanne Gallery's first foray into painting the female body, a way for her to paint something very sensual without offense. She painted the thick lips to look like wet candy. She also oversized the lips, taking a cue from the collagen-pumped smackers seen on today's celebrities. Her use of what she calls "hyper color" links the piece to the bold advertising colors of the Pop Art movement.

Joanne lives in Cave Creek, Arizona with her husband, two sons and two cats. Gallery is her real last name - it's Irish in origin. She has shown her work in Cave Creek Phoenix, New Zealand and the art magazine Vortex.  She has studied interior design at UCLA and is taking art classes at Scottsdale Community College.
