THE GIRL by Maryam Gaber
Maryam Gaber lived in Cairo until 2005 when she moved to the United States to study at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She creates intimate portraits with an expert eye for line, colorful shading and feminine elegance. Maryam calls each of her works "a love letter to a stranger" - a personal moment that she makes public. Her Egyptian culture influences the way she executes her nudes, depicting women with dark tones, bold lines, gold paint and bright colors.

Maryam graduated this year with a BFA in painting and art education. She lives in Chicago with her Parakeet in a big, open apartment that keeps her refreshed and creative. Maryam has shown her work in Chicago and Cairo.
